Dolphins could keep all of those picks and still not get a WR as dynamic as TyReek. And really, Mike McDaniel with TyReek and Waddle is pretty dangerous. Add Mike Gieseke to that crew and if Raheem Morris can stay healthy the offense should be really potent, especially since they have also addressed some Oline issues too. Also, the amount of money they paid him is inconsequential. The salary cap is going to sky rocket year after next when the new broadcast rights deal kicks in.
Tyreek Hill is better than any WR they could get with the #29th pick in this years draft (which they got from San Francisco) because he is a known commodity so that one’s moot. Number #50 is simply part of the cost for acquiring an elite WR, similar to what the Raiders gave up for Adams (a 1st and 2nd). So really, now we are talking about just 3 picks between the 4th and 6th rounds over the next couple of drafts. Seems like a decent gamble to bring in a guy like Hill into a Mike McDaniel offense, especially when combined the other players I mentioned. They also signed the best tackle on the market this offseason too. And they still have two firsts in the 2023 draft as well.
Agreed and I don’t love the Chiefs now having more picks and cap space. Having said that, even though I don’t like the price, I am interested to see how the Dolphins look under McDaniel.
Not sure the first is necessarily moot considering that a drafted WR will make 1/10 of what Tyreek does
