Does anyone know if a market is forming for recycling/ scrapping these hybrids? Gotta be some money in doing that, both as an environmental service and the value of the materials.
you'd hope so given the fact that we know the materials to make them aren't environmentally friendly.
I should have said around in my figures. I'm not sure of the exact savings, but it's significant. We got a tremendous deal. The wife contacted the internet sales guy, and he gave her the wrong quote. It was waaay off. They honored it anyway. I didn't even say anything. They just said they'd honor it. I do know for a fact that she went from $400/month in gas to around $40. She fills up every 2 weeks.
I think that's awesome. I just don't think that declining oil prices is the reason you bought the Prius.
What are you talking about? The Prius is made by Toyota. It will never stop, and should it ever, mother gaia or some such will cause magic moon beams to shine down and turn it into a habitat for spotted owls.
I once figured I had to drive an extra 5,000 miles a year to make up the difference in car payment from my current car to the hybrid equivalent.
don't wanna derail the eco friendliness wallowing around in here, but my rigs aren't particularly fuel efficient and I have the hammer down more than I should.
