Worley had a strong showing today. Josh Smith ran with the 1's at WR. Speed of DL giving OL problems. Looking like Wharton will get more and more time at returner. Darr has been punting the ball very well. Worley took all of the 1st team reps today. I just see Worley continuing to make plays. -CBJ The rhythm is developing on offense. It's not where it needs to be, but it's getting better. -CBJ Dillon Bates is continuing to impress at LB and ST. I've been really excited about TKJr. He continues to get better and better everyday. -CBJ Josh Dobbs' highlight came on a really well thrown ball that threaded the needle for a touchdown to Johnathon Johnson. Dobbs later scored on a bootleg where the defensive end lost containment. Jacob Gilliam worked a good bit at right tackle, while Dontavius Blair worked at left tackle. Jashon Robertson has embraced and flourished in his move from the defensive line to offensive guard. Robertson remains an incredibly strong member of the Vols' team, either side of the ball. http://player.vimeo.com/video/103263318 Jones challenged Elliott Berry right from the start by making him go three straight times in the Vols' "circle of life" drill, including a first rep against his twin brother Evan. On Elliott Berry's third rep, linebacker Justin King drove him out of the circle. Ethan and Daniel are going to be a great. They have great attitudes. -North on TE's I love Moseley. He's very competitive and works really hard. He's athletic and long. -North on CB Moseley
Peterman improvised after a low snap from freshman center Ray Raulerson and ran in for a score. Jones has alluded to possibly naming a starting quarterback this week. During his media session on Tuesday, he briefly talked about Justin Worley, praising the senior signal caller. "Going through your progressions, there is a clock in your head as a quarterback and also understanding situational football and areas on the field," said Jones. "That was great to see. I see Justin gaining confidence practice-in and practice-out."
Peterman made a nice ball fake, then hit freshman tight end Daniel Helm for a touchdown. Butch Jones was not pleased with the coverage, bellowing: “Touchdown! Elliot (Berry) didn’t know what to do!” A.J. Johnson hammered Pickett for a two-yard loss on a run up the middle, prompting Jones to shout, “Very good! It’s about time we say enough’s enough!” A draw play to Pickett goes for a 9-yard touchdown up the gut. Tennessee’s pass rush appears to be leaving the middle of the field open.
It's just practice for today. But I told you guys we will very likely see Young, Pickett (and Pig) in scatback roles. These guys are going to be a significant part of the season as both runners and slot receivers.
Some of that was zasnow, some was fingers, some was hubbs, some was Callahan, some was utsports. Just an fyi.
