Redistribution is a reality of government when you have uneven wealth and common infrastructure.

I'm not worried, one way or the other. I'm young and healthy. Or at least I was...

I just don't understand the outrage coming from the Right when their guy is pitching a diet version, and was the inspiration for the original.

IP, on a serious note, I'm not following this line of thought. Romney is clearly more conservative than Obama on every issue. I'm not sure what your beef is here. Who cares if his health plan is progressive. The tax code is progressive and Romney doesn't favor a flat tax that I'm aware of. That still doesn't mean he's as liberal as Obama.

You seem to be unaware that differences between republicans and democrats aren't quite as stark as those between communists and pure capitalists. The difference between the two candidates with regard to redistribution is that Obama's goal is to build up the middle class by essentially taking money from the wealthy and giving it to the middle class. Romney's goal is to lower taxes across the board to get the economy going. Now, does redistribution still occur at some level? Sure. Are their philosophies still totally distinct? Yes.

My spelling has always been terrible.

Yes we are still talking about wealth redistribution, but hardly the same as making the rich paying a percentage 2 to 3 times the average middle class american.

I am reacting to the rhetoric I hear. I've been told Dems are socialists and communists who want to seize the wealth from the wealthy and redistribute it.

It didn't seem like it was a big deal in the 50's.

Right. He was just talking about infrastructure.

The Internet is like the Bible; it is not hard to find something that supports or disputes almost any claim.

It wasn't? You had rich people buying tax shelters (not availble today) left and right.

so you want to be taken seriously, but are equating the two? Good grief. Both suck, but vis a vis individuality vs gov't solutions, it's not even close. That doesn't excuse vote buying from either.

What is all this "seriously" talk? Being dismissed out of hand because I have a different view doesn't keep me up at night. If only I would just tow a "government sucks, feudal capitalism rules" line.

I'm not dismissing you out of hand. I'm dismissing you because you made the absurd statement that my view of Obama doesn't hold water based upon the fact that I find Romney more palatable than Obama.

I don't give a crap which line you tow (sic) or how much sleep you might get, but your point that I'm not allowed to discern, even between two bad choices, is absolutely ludicrous.
