He does, but Tajh Boyd stays committed to Tennessee, he's probably Nick Saban's wide receiver coach and recruiting coordinator.

Well, they were there for anybody to take. He took ‘em. Honestly, over the course of a near decade of recruiting, I wouldn’t say a lot.

 

He was in the right place at the right time and has made a monster. He may not be the best X's and O's guy, but he's built a dynasty.

 

He's top notch on how to handle the day to day and logistics of running a program. I honestly think he's just a good all around guy that people like to coach and play for under him.

His offense is really simple with amazing athletes, and has been able to keep one of the best DCs in the game that's put him over the top to being an elite head coach.

 

Exactly, unlike all these other coaches, he doesn't out think himself. That is, in and of itself, a sign of genius.

 

It's just funny how stuff like that works out to me.

 

Army's coach is kind of like that, I think. has all his play calls based on situations already mapped, and unemotionally follows it in game. many try to do that, few succeed in ignoring their gut.

 

I'm 100% fine with that to a point. Sometimes you have to take the feel of a game into consideration though.

 

They play some good football.

I'm not sure if you're joking, but I do think there is a difference between choosing from a list and it being made explicit.

of course, running an option-based attack allows you to let your players respond in real time to what the defense presents.

Army has a system and attack you based on how and who is making the play.

I wouldn't call it mapped out but more of an If-then kind of play calling system. It's a lot like really good Wing T teams.

 

i'd bet good money he could turn around a power 5 program. he's a flat out great coach.
