Not the biggest fan of Stipe's politics, but at their best they were one of the best American bands going for over two decades.

They've got a whole bunch of songs that, when hearing them on the radio, make me say, "Turn it up, I like this one," and then 30 seconds later say, "You can change it, it isn't as good as I remembered."
kind of liked them a little til i saw them live...terrible. haven't listened to them since. i think that was 95...
