Scientists Use Human Junk DNA to Grow Bigger Mice Brains

This is really fascinating research. I think it is exciting in that this could eventually lead to better understanding and treatment of neurological diesases like Alzheimer's. At the same time, the potential capability to enhance animal brains to have more human characteristics is troubling.

I have to admit my mind went directly to NIMH when I first read this. Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH was probably my favorite childhood book.

 

I thought of it as near term help for TOOS.
