Sounds like us. Drove out in 36 hours only stopping in Gallup, NM to shower. Caught about 2 hrs sleep then. There were 4 of us in a full-sized Ford Bronco- 2 driving/navigating one asleep in the back seat & one asleep in the cargo area. We had to go I-75 to I-59 to I-20 to I-40 to avoid predicted ice storms on I-40 in Arkansas. Was to stay in Flagstaff but saw a Las Vegas 150 miles sign. Decided we had driven over 1,500 miles we might as well drive another 150. Glad we did. Seeing Vegas & the Hoover Dam was pretty dang cool. We stayed at the New York New York Casino. Was only there about 10 hours. Drove to Tempe the next morning (about 5 hrs), watched the game and drove back to Flagstaff. Slept 4 hrs drove 30 hrs straight home. I had to be back at work & was going to have to take 2 days off, but I got lucky & it snowed. We missed the entire week. It was bad too because after we had driven nearly 4,000 miles we nearly died 3 times within 50 miles of being home due to the snow. I got home about 6:30 in the evening, took a shower & went to bed. I woke up about 2 or 3 the next afternoon. Was a glorious trip that I'll never forget. Side Note: recorded the game on SEC Network today & am showing it to my daughters & 2 of their friends to show them that we haven't always sucked. With 11:26 to go in the 2nd, I've already seen Volguy, me & our buddy 3 times on TV.
A true fan would have a VHS of the game along with the official dvd from the vol network. #truefancard #impeachjay But seriously, that is an awesome story. My biggest fandom regret is being young enough then to not recognize the greatness I was seeing and thinking we would always be that good.
I'm with you. Eff the haters. But then again I never really understood why grown men become concerned about the fashion, accessories or look of other grown men.
I am so Glad,,you let us in on that secret......... I miss Al Wilson!!! also Henry and Stephens too!!! Love you!
