I don't see much of a difference in those quotes. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we have Shoop and he should be an upgrade.

How many coaches flat out say teams won't run the ball on us?

Jesus, he's not Jesus. I don't understand why you all are getting your pom poms out over a quote that he should say. I like his attitude but it's not much different than any other new coach at a program.

Someone should tell the rest of the coaching community. While that should be the attitude it is rarely thrown out there in a public statement.

It's May. What else do we have to do?

I think it is. We've had quite a few coaches the last few years spending their time minimizing expectations and preemptively providing excuses. This guy is going out on a limb somewhat. If he fails to live up to these expectations, he needs to eat it.

The most we've see. A coach set expectations in quite a while has been in regards to immeasurable concepts like discipline, working hard, being committed, etc.

Calm down. It's May and we have nothing else.

Also, between Butch and his youth excuse and Dooley's "opportunity is nowhere" campaign, we haven't had a coach talk much here since Kiffin promising never to lose to Georgia

I remember everyone laughing at him saying he'd get Crompton drafted. Even the guys fully bought into Kiffin thought that was overboard.

Not the way he put it.

The difference is not really that hard to see.

Ok, I agree with this post. It is a nice change of pace for expectations. I get what you all are getting at.

The South Carolina prospect told he would be pumping gas if he went to USCjr was pure gold.

    Because we actually understand football?

Defense requires a certain mindset. I'm happy we have a guy that is setting the appropriate tone for his team.
