Pep struggles to close out seasons. Going to go out in the quarterfinals of the UCL and team blew a 2-0 lead to close out the league. We will still win the league, but damn.
They faced a couple of true tests this week and ended up looking exactly like who they are at the moment, which is a team that really hasn't had to get out of second gear for the past six months. That's not to take anything at all away from what they've accomplished this year. It really speaks to how unbelievable they've been to have essentially wrapped up the Premier League in early April without ever facing any real adversity.
Mo Salah. Pretty incredible season. Great day for the Scousers watching their side advance and Cutinho going down.
Am sure they will replay. Was at work and picked up and watched on my phone for last part of the second half.
On this side of the pond, the CONCACAF Champion's League has its final set. MLS has done really poorly against Mexican teams, but this year they've held their own quite well and Toronto made it to the final by defeating two of the best clubs south of the border in America and Tigres. NY Red Bulls actually out shot Guadalajara 20-1 last night in the other semifinal second leg, but couldn't put one through and make up the 1-0 deficit. Toronto should actually be favored, although Altidore may be out with an injury.
Agreed. Buffon bumped the ref so he should have been given a red. Hate to see his European career end like that.
