Let each get what he earns, otherwise the incentive to achieve is gone, mediocrity is then the result with the effort per worker averaged toward the laziest.

I am surprised that IP has not yet ended this thread.

Lots of good points being made.

I think we should all work and contribute towards the greater good and the general welfare. If you don't, why are you not leaving these united socialist states that so cruelly "steal" from you every March/April 15th? It's theft, right? You tolerate theft?

Perhaps he has seen the light. And Hilary has decided to pull out of the election citing her blatant lack of qualification for the job, and announcing entering therapy for uncontrollable lying.

What are you asking him to contribute?

The data supports that its not changed. We don't have the mobility of other countries but they don't have have as many steps on the ladder either. So it's not apples to apples

I agree on general welfare that's covered by our founding, but once you get into the "greater good" that's were the legalized blunder comes in.

The data supports that the US has less mobility than peer countries, yes. You dismiss this, I don't.

I don't recall asking anyone for anything. Are you nominating me for something?

Because theirs is a smaller ladder.

The greater good? General welfare? Who isn't, of those doing anything for the country? What about the large and growing population that likes socialism because they can take without giving to the pot? They suck. Every system that encourages them sucks.

Of course moochers suck. I said we should all work and contribute. Clearly, this idea is not encouraging moochers.

Our government's idea is to just give without any work or contribution. It clearly encourages moochers.

    How should we force them

Are you saying you agree that the US is a socialist country?

I don't recall saying anything about force.

No, as much as the current regime wants it to be. I'm stating exactly what I wrote, our government wants to give without concern for the consequences. It is nothing more than buying the votes of the recipients. If those receiving government assistance were to be disenfranchised from voting, I wonder how generous the giving would be?
