I'd love to go down and see a live launch one day. I'm still kicking myself for not making the drive down for the last shuttle launch.
How is SpaceX making enough money to stay in business? Are they getting a lot of grant money from the government?
Just watched it from parking lot. Pretty neat and large flame from 40 miles away. Saw the flames too from two boosters on re-entry.
Sending cars to mars, just because we can. I hope they put some random supplies in the trunk, so that they're randomly an option in some future space crisis
It was a simulated payload, normally that's a blob of concrete. You don't put anything on a maiden test flight that you don't want to lose. The next launch will carry a commercial payload.
That was freaking awesome. Space exploration is perhaps my most joyful thought and experience I can have, even if it is vicariously gotten through others that actually get to go to space. Godspeed, Starman!
