Thoughts? Starbucks' program to create jobs kicks off Tuesday - Nov. 1, 2011 (side note - the girl quoted at the bottom speaking about lack of money yet goes to Starbucks daily sums up America IMO.)
Hell no. If Starbucks wants to donate money, they can donate it off the top of my overpriced latte, not glad hand me to further extend their influence and profits, by donating to a cause that lends money out, and expects a return. I'd love to see that group's board, investor and startup income persons list.
I didn't for a long time, and when it got too expensive, I started making my own with a cheap espresso machine. But when I am able, I prefer theirs or Einstein brothers. Usually Starbucks because I can get small 12 oz, instead of a 16oz. Since I usually don't eat breakfast, the milk additive to the espresso serves as a replacement "meal." Plus, they open at 530.
I cook breakfast in bulk on either Sunday night or Monday night. 5 or 6 sausage patties or bacon or ham or whatever and a can of flaky biscuits. Then, when I'm still sleepwalking at 5 every morning, I just pop it in the microwave. It's not even that good but it works. I have to eat breakfast.
Ask the good folks with the Seattle Supersonics how Howard Schultz created jobs. Did I say create? I meant destroy.
Einstein coffee is fantastic. But I still make mine at home. If you want a cheap cafe au lait at starbucks, just order a double shot of espresso in a tall cup and add the milk yourself at the condiment bar
