Ever thought about running a swamp cooler in house during the day? Never heard of one until I moved out to AZ, definitely helps keep the house cool as well as keeping the electric bill from being astronomical. I keep the SC in the warmest part of the house while the A/C is on during the day.

I keep mine around 65 in the winter, my house doesn’t hold it in well and it just runs constantly and costs a fortune. Run space heaters here and there

That was me until I got married. If you're outside all the time, it's comfortable.

They aren't as useful in humid climates

I spend many of my days outside and 76+ doesn't feel comfortable to me.

I like the cold. I'll wear shorts in the 40-50s.

Might help but as J.Brant mentioned, humid climate might not make it as useful. Forgot you're down in FL.

    Between 74-76.

Summer starts in June. We run the heat into early May, and turn it off for ab it.

Side note: I have an HVAC guy I know that told me that programming your thermostat to turn down AC/heat when you are away at work only saves you energy in the Spring/Fall. Summer and winter it ends up costing you more to reheat or recool the house. Better to just leave it at a constant temp.

This true, and has been the biggest source of fights in my life. Heating and cooling degree days are a thing.
