I'll not mention any names here, but this did happen in the last year or so. I'd guess Hat could guess the names. Once upon a time, the former mayor of the town came into my shop, made a purchase and handed me a 100 dollar bill. I noticed it looked different. First off, the paper just felt different. And, upon laying it beside a bill that I knew was legit, it was quite a bit smaller. So I told him I could not take it. He acted shocked, and then he proceeded to pull out 2 more of them out of his wallet. They were identical, even the serial numbers. Then he said he was going to go look for the guy he got the bills from. I'm thinking some poor soul accepted these bills, and worse, probably gave back legit money for change.
