Yep. Great park. .Attached is his 1952 Lexington Sr football pic. Think he broke his nose quite a bit
I actually live 19 miles from Jackson, Ga Fresh Air BBQ it’s pulled pork with vinegar sauce and Brunswick Stew, it’s really good! There’s few good BBQ spots in Atlanta, but Texas BBQ is the stuff, that Fatty Brisket, cup of beans, cold Shiner and chicken with jalapeño and cheese thingy, dang skippy!! You shittin' me? I was born and raised there. And yes, Scott's is as good as it gets. When my mom goes home I have her bring me back a pound or two.
Texas barbecue is good for what it is, but I still say smoker space used for brisket is smoker space that should have been used for pork shoulders. except in Texas, because their pulled pork was embarrassing
Years ago you could tell them what part of the pig you wanted. I sometimes call when passing through because they close when they run out. Law Rd exit
WTF? Famous Dave's is where you go when you don't care how bad the meat is, because it's smothered in too much sauce to taste.
They put a Famous Dave's in Kalispell, MT, and the first time I was up after they put it in, the residents took me there so I could see how great it was... poor bastards.
Any chubby, middle aged individual standing beside smoker in an empty parking lot selling bbq is usually top notch
Now you guys got me wanting to smoke a few Boston butts and make some Texas/ Memphis sauce!! I showed my Buddy the BBQ technique this summer when I was up there at Douglas Sent from Not in my Home State using the new old Atari
BOOM!!! I was going to mention Fresh Air since I live south of Atlanta but every time we camp at Indian Springs, Fresh Air is always a Saturday afternoon lunch. No brainer.
That’s one of the things I love about BBQ. The regional perfections. I love brisket and sausage in Texas. But I slide right into pulled pork and rib mode when I hit Arkansas or Mississippi and northeast.
My old man used to say “just about all BBQ smells good while it’s still on the smoker, it’s what happens to it after it comes off that makes the difference.”...
If you want beef. Hard Eight is an awesome brisket haven. They frickin chop it up right there and it is the bomb. They’re in Dallas area not sure where else.
