When you message is socially distance and be responsible you continue that behavior as leaders even if you have the vaccine, so its one less thing for the crazies to point at and say the virus magically disappeared on inauguration day and so on and so forth.

To be fair, they're damned if they do, damned if they don't. Trump used to call Biden out for wearing a mask when no one was anywhere near him as well. Trump or anyone on the right could just as easily say "why are they wearing masks and socially distancing if they all have the vaccine?!"
The truth is the vaccine for you doesn't mean no need for a mask for you, or distancing. And folks are going to be pissed as this is realized. We have to get to the high level of coverage and low level of disease before that is dropped. You can be vaccinated and still potentially be a vector.
