Iranian Official: The Jews Use Sorcery Against Iran The irrational nature of Iran's leadership is terrifying.
Not to defend the sanity of Iran, but it seems more like he was accusing the Jews of believing in sorcery rather than trying to make Iranians fear Jewish magic. So, I would consider your title quote inaccurate.
i'm not seeing a popular uprising in Iran. if anything the country has been far more stable after rights were taken away.
Touche. Still don't think the title should be in quotation marks as it implies an Iranian official actually said that.
1) The people have a high enough standard of living to be unwilling to revolt. 2) Several different Iranians have told me that the city of Tehran hates their leaders and wants democracy, but that the police/military presence there is very menacing/strong. One friend of mine was clubbed in the rallies.
Though not perfect, I think Azerbaijan is a good template for what Iran could become, a quasi-democratic, quasi-religious state where the government and people exist in uneasy tension with the other, but becomes relatively free of strife and easy for tourists to visit.
Nobody said it, though. Someone said something like that. That'd be like me calling Bray a good QB and then someone saying: kpt called Bray "outstanding". Guess I'm just being a stickler.
