Another example of why I loathe the automatic bid being awarded to the conference tournament champion instead of the regular season champ. Hate it, hate it, hate it.

There'd be no point in a conference tourney if that were the case though.

 

So what is the reasoning beyond that team not being able to participate in the postseason because they are transitioning to D1?

 

No idea. New FBS teams can’t make a bowl either

 

It's a stupid NCAA rule. No clue on where it came from. I think the same applies if you make a jump to D2. I know Union had to deal with it when they went from NAIA to D2.

Women are 1 seed in South regional and hosting. Men are 4 seed in South regional.
