You guys are making me think of how unbelievable the Olympics pool problems are too. Apparently hydrogen peroxide was added to clean the pool, which neutralized the chlorine.
Exactly, Automatic chlorinator is the way to go. I spend maybe 5 minutes a week, not counting the occasional vacuuming.
This is what everyone is using down here. It's supposed to be better for your skin and all of the pool equipment. It's a little expensive to start and I hear the cells go bad about every 5-7 years.
If you do it, go Hayward. But say around $1300/1400 over 7 years. Basically $200 a year. You probably spend more than that on chlorine tabs/granules. And when you change out cells, it's $4/500, not the full cost.
I will check it out. This is the time of the year when I start saying I'm going to do it. When I'm dumping a couple of jugs of chlorine a week, plus about 6 tablets from all of the rain.
I don't see you needing to get someone in to heat it up for you, or do the plumbing, unless you just don't want to, so your up front could be a lot less. But if you do, it needs to be the last thing on the line before the return. So if you have heater or Polaris booster pump or anything, chlorinator needs to be last.
Where's everyone seeing this about the field? I believe y'all, all I can find though are propaganda updates from Brent and Co. Saying how wonderful our new field is
