They may be willing to allow him to bring some key assistants, like an OL coach, with him. Also, Pruitt evidently thought Helton was way, way too pass happy. So, hard to imagine he loves the Briles offensive philosophy. If it really is down to these three guys, Pruitt is either willing to adjust his process to win games now and is going balls out interviewing Lebby as an assistant to sweeten the deal for Briles, he’s hiring Yurcich who would also be good, or he’s an idiot that we need to separate from UT as quickly as possible.
I’m really afraid this may end up being the actual case... That Vandy game really spooked me on Pruitt.
Chandler quit getting touches during the time Pruitt supposedly took over playcalling. Don't believe I'd have let that get out with how awful they looked against a garbage unit.
To be fair, after 1 game Pruitt talked about being unable to get the ball to the rbs in the flat when teams were run blitzing. I imagine that was frustration with OC and QB.
2013: 18th in pts per play/55th in rush ypg/51st in yds per rush attempt/27th in pass ypg/32nd in total ypg 2014: 75th/102nd/56th/113th/89th 2015: 10th/111th/115th/7th/24th 2016: 21st/64th/54th/7th/11th 2017: 4th/42nd/37th/1st/2nd 2018: 24th/60th/62nd/13th/12th That's not bad at all.
LV’s win a big game, the men knock off #1... if we announce Briles as OC tonight this may be the best day in UT sports since 1998...
How often do offensive coordinators coming into a staff that’s already worked together for a year get to make staff change demands?
If it is is, either: A) he wants to see how badly UT wants him... to the extent that we’d go along with that, or B) he really never wanted to come here anyway and made those demands knowing we’d tell him to kick rocks.
Tomorrow: It's the most perfect day to start any job - tomorrow. Most marvelous day that was ever invented. Why, there's absolutely nothing a man can't do... tomorrow.
