From what I am hearing, there will be a special Congress called with a period of campaigning (Blatter wants four months), then another election.

ABC reporting that a source says Blatter is under investigation by the FBI (though FBI will not comment, for good reasons) and that they would not be surprised if people are jockeying to flip to save themselves.

Also, the FBI is running this like an old fashioned New York Racketeering investigation. And frankly, that is what it is. FIFA is nothing but a mafia.

Oh, come now, Card. It was the 1980's, not all that long ago!

So, our odds for hosting in 2022 have gone up.

Waaaay up. I don't think Qatar has a snowballs chance in, well, Qatar of hosting the 2022. Even if the USA doesn't get it (and there are only a handful of countries that can step up and host a WC on short notice).

France, as well. But France and Germany have had one since the USA. I say let England have it, to be honest. It keeps us from looking like we got it only because we trumped up charges against FIFA (which is obviously not true, judging by how corrupt this thing is), and also England (!) has not hosted a World Cup since 19-freaking-66. Then we go in hard with the big **** and get 2026.

All of this assuming that Russia 2018 is still in Russia. And from what I understand, they are way behind in construction, so hell, they might lose it just on that.

There's like 3 fields at Watt Rd. Don't see why we couldn't do it there

Francois Carrard, the guy appointed to FIFA's Reform Commission, has said that Blatter has been unfairly attacked and it is a few rogues doing the bad things in FIFA.

Oh, look, Carrard used to be Director General for the IOC.

    What a bunch of crooks.

And his remarks about soccer in the US is downright sexist and bigoted:

I expect that crap from middle-aged rednecks, not from someone in FIFA.

Why? You think Europeans aren't bigots and racists?

Hell no, we've talked about that before. There is tons of bigotry and racism in Europe. But they are in denial about it. Here, we talk about it all damn day out in the open.

I've not heard of any bananas being thrown at players in the NFL or NBA, for example. That's some disgusting stuff, and it seems to be an annual incident in Europe.
