The expectations of Cuban Americans in 2015 are not reasonable. I'm sorry they lost their property, but that was long ago. It's done. If they were Muslims, they would be told they should have stayed and fought the communist regime and fought for their homeland.
Here's how the negotiations should go- The US: you owe $x for property nationalized owned by US citizens and corporations. Cuba: We do not think we should have to pay until you give us reparations for the embargo. The US: Okay, we think you owe us X. You don't think you do. Let's call it X/2. You want reparations for the embargo? How about we call it even, or we bring back the embargo. I think we can agree that not continuing the embargo represents a very hefty sum of money. Cuba: ... okay. And nobody wins, but at least we can move the **** on.
No. How does it compare? I have a friend in Jamaica who brings me some homemade rum when he comes to the states. Best. Ever.
I agree with your take on the Castros but Cuba itself looks like a really cool place. Would like to go one day.
The Castros have stolen millions and millions of dollars through medicare fraud in the past couple of years. Plus the fact that Fidel, if he had the balls and the army, would have declared war on the USA years ago.

I tell my Cuban friends that most people up north hear them talk and figure they're Mexican. Pisses them off. I think it's funny.
Well it pisses me off that Tennessee has been a second rate football program for better than a decade, but that doesn't make it any less true.
