Just in Azteca, though I don't know if the US has played at any other Mexican venues since it opened.

Never mind, that's wrong. It's usually the Azteca stat that gets tossed around.

Tenacious D The law is of supreme importance, or no importance

I absolutely believe this, and without hesitation.

Hoping the US can string a pass together in the second half.

Mexico hasn't lost at the Azteca to anyone in a while, I believe.

Think opposing teams have trouble breathing there.

They mentioned they have lost only 8 times from over 100 matches. The last was Uruguay like 4 years ago. Pretty crazy.

Good first half, we are where we want to be.

    I don't like Kyle Beckerman.

EDIT: I almost liked him for a second.

This laser crap is beyond bush league. Ought to be a forfeit.

From what I've read about Azteca that sort of thing is part of the experience.

I still can't see Brek Shea and not see the blonde caddy kid from Happy Gilmore.

Wow. That was evidently a really big deal. Somehow the broadcast made it seem like the conclusion of an NFL preseason game. Was that just me? Not a lot of excitement for the first victory ever.

It was a huge deal. We may well look back at it as a watershed moment for US soccer.

But did the coverage not fall woefully short of conveying that? This sounds like it was the '98 Florida game, but if I didn't know the backstory I'd think 2003 Duke game.

I think some of them were literally lost in the moment- they didn't foresee this happening and all they could do is repeat the same things.

If the '98 Florida game had been a scrimmage in Gainesville where we had Jamal Lewis, Deon Grant, and Al Wilson sitting out with injuries.

The exhibition nature detracts a tad. But it's still absolutely historical, and it came with a seriously weakened USA side. We started bloody Castillo, Cameron, and Edu on the backline and didn't give up any goals. I still can't wrap my mind around it.

Also, Orozco Fiscal, I have forgiven you for Beijing 2008.
