My wife didn’t get an epidural with either of ours so I guess this is one aspect of childbirth I missed out on. But boy did I experience the rest (at least those a man can). Haha.
My wife's epidural was a mess on our first. She couldn't feel her legs, push, or do much of anything except feel uncomfortable for quite a while. It was longer than it should have been, but not one of these 24 hour labors you hear stories about. It was long enough I got to hear her cuss her mother at one point. That's a moment I will never forget right alongside the birth of pur daughter.
That happened to my mother. They eventually had to cut me out due to a twisted uterus. Both of us would have almost surely died in the absence of modern medicine.
