This Stokes saga isnt over yet. One of his "associates" is an extremely shady character. Could be dynamite for a program already on probation.

Oh, and I wont have to tell you his name, he makes himself known very well.

Find me a top recruit who isn't associated with some shady characters. Take as much time as you need.

This just appears to be the Memphis fans making up excuses to make themselves feel better about losing Stokes. If Stokes had gone to Memphis, I seriously doubt Fry would be on here telling us about Stokes' "shady" associate.

Would it be fair to say that Tyler was the best pure athlete of the Pearl era? Hopson was way more fluid in the way he moved, but I don't think he had Tyler's raw athleticism. I'm just thinking in my head of several instances where Tyler would come flying in -- seemingly out of nowhere -- and pin a seemingly uncontested lay-in in against the backboard. Dude was strong too. He was one of my favs.

Depends on how you define athleticism. Scotty was long and languid, had an explosive step, and could jump out of the gym. Smith could kick his ass using just his eyelashes.

    I'll call it a wash.

But most of them are smart enough to not mention amateurism and recruiting violations on public radio, especially at a school on probation for similar issues.

Of course not, that's stupid. His associate is a small timer that wants to be a big boy but is too stupid to know the game. Oh, he's also an elected official.

Tyler looked the part too, btw.

Pure athleticism I am going with the one and only Ramar Smith. One of the biggest wastes of talent to come through Knoxville. And dangerous too.

Going back to the football talk, I always thought Ramar could have been a good running back.

Anyway, when is Stokes eligible to get on the court?

    January 11th, I think.

It depends on the clearing house too. They can drag their feet and his recent high school transfer could cause ot to linger. As soon as he's cleared by the CH he is immediately eligible i believe.

According to some people, including the UT beat writer, Stokes will be redshirted this season

I've been hearing this since before he committed, but which UT beat writer are you talking about?

    Jimmy Hymes

Then I wouldn't lend too much credence. Hyams is pretty infamous around here. Probably the only one less trustworthy is Tony Basilio

And at least Basilio is wrong on purpose for his own ends. Hyams is just wrong a lot.

Ive never heard of the guy but he was talking about it on the radio today apparently.

Also, I told you that Stokes has a shady associate that is going to get people to start paying more attention. He was escorted by his "trainer" and said associate. Im telling you, this type of association is not something good for Stokes or UTK. The guy has never been affiliated with basketball in any format and is an elected official.

Isn't the guy to whom you refer well known as a Memphis booster? That was the story on memphistigers.org before Jarnell announced his decision.

Not sure. I do know he is a Memphis alum. This guy is a real piece of work and he has nothing to offer. Hes a guy seeking attention by hanging on the coattail of Stokes. Hes not smart enough to know when he is breaking eligibility rules either. Some people outside of Memphis have started to notice this bizarre affiliation as well. Look him up if you want.

I thought one reason he chose UT was to play immediately? Why would we be redshirting him?
