Franklin owes a lot of his success to him. Seems like the only time he scored a lot of points was against UT last year.
mason would be an immediate upgrade over franklin or at least as a coach. recruiting probably not so much
Meh. Be glad he won what he did and understand your still not an SEC football school either way. Kind of a perfect storm for him with the Non Conf. schedule and the east being bad for his tenure here.
He prolly remain a pot stirrer for Vandy. Remember those days when Franklin owned UT. He's got a built in market here.
If Fulmer takes a box filled with all of his coaching offers and holds it up to his ear, he can listen to the ocean.
Not sure I'd take that job if I was a legit up and comer. I guess it paid off for Jimmy Frank though.
I'd rather follow Robbie Caldwell than James Franklin. The next coach could be better but do worse based on improvement in the east. That makes it hard to leave it better than you found it in the eyes of the fans even if you did.
If I'm Chad Morris, I fire my agent if Vanderbilt even thinks they can talk to me. Also, Chad Morris, with around 1/300th the talent he's got now, facing SEC defenses every week would not be a great situation.
Why? Franklin parlayed it into the Penn State job. It's potentially a good start for an up and comer. And, I don't think James Franklin is a better offensive coach than Chad Morris.
Franklin got insanely lucky. Very rarely is a schedule that easy going to come along two years in a row in the SEC.
