The 10:1 campaign spending stands out to me. Most of that 10 came from out of state. Doesn't seem right.

Though most of the money Barack Obama will spend in North Carolina will likely come from New York and California. Nature of the money game.

Will he be spending 10:1 the amount? No.

The only reason the spending was so lopsided is beacuse the DNC said the recall was a lost cause and pulled out.

You mentioned out of state money. Or is it the imbalance that bothers you? Those are two separate issues.

The massive imbalance due to out-of-state money is what bothers me.

but it is a national issue. arnold tried to go after the unions in california and got his [penis] cut off for it. they tried the same in wisconsin and didn't succeed. This is a major victory. As for the spending gap i'd love to know how much money and effort the unions spent that isn't included in that number. in california they will literally target you with money, protests, petty threats, and do anything they can to run you out of office if you don't go along with their mandatory raises and pensions. a lot more goes into this than money for political ads.

    There's just always a spin, isn't there?

I'm not spinning anything. I didn't say its a good or bad thing. I'm just stating the fact that the DNC chose not to support the recall. That's obviously going to have an impact on campaign spending.

You never struck me as a "let states decide" advocate.

Just seems like I'm being told this is some massive victory or referendum of the true will of the Public, yet at the same time the other side rolled over and didn't care.

And then someone will blame a bunch of election outcomes on fraud?

There is a difference between not caring and not wasting resources on a losing effort.

I don't feel super good about American politics, when funding from special interests runs the show and things can be as unbalanced as 10:1. That is a scary thing.
