Alright, I'll bite since it is you. If he is working in the same people into the schedule later, he will have increased cash flow on those days. As long as he isn't to the point of being booked solid he isn't actually losing anything no matter how you spin it. If he is constantly booked solid and thus has to turn people away to make room, then yes he lost business.

 

You're assuming 100% of those people come back and 100% of the people I'm unable to see when I'm treating the guys during their secon appointment still come to see me rather than another guy and then 100% of those people I'm unable to see while I'm seeing then and so on. The truth is you are never truly able to make up for down time. Period.

 

The people you are unable to see while seeing them? Again, if you aren't booked solid or turning people away...

 

The goal is always booked solid. Bare minimum you're making me spend 8 extra hours at work to earn the same amount in a week I could with four days. if I were an hourly employee, that would be a 20% pay cut. But trust me, you never make up for lost time. This isn't wild Kpt's musings, it's very established tried and true wisdom. If you get the opportunity to run a business you'll see.

 

I get what you are saying in terms of you spending more time doing less.

 

But there's more to it than that. There's only so many business hours in the month to come up with the rent. If I waste 8 of them, the profitability of every other hour is reduced because a higher portion of it is now required to pay off the rent.

 

Don't bend it like that and you will be fine.

 

I'll leave it at timing of cash flow is equally as important as the fact that one has it.

Growing companies actually lose money almost solely due to timing of cash flows.

As to the variables impacting whether those people actually make up the appointment, don't be ludicrous. The pyramid style bubble you just rippled through to forever is funny, but then running a business for cash flow isn't what you do.

 

efficiency in this type of customer driven timing is all over the map. Assuming otherwise makes you look silly or totally inexperienced in business - or both.
