I respect hat's basketball acumen, like anyone else here, but I remain undeterred by my opposition to this hire. He's 60, hasn't done jack in a while and is the most consistent underachiever in college basketball.

 

This is the beauty of hiring a coach that you may not have preferred: now, show me.

So, I agree, who does Barnes bring in...because who is left? Doesn't Barnes probably stop Tariq from transferring? If so, then there's that.

 

One of our best players in recent memory was a late season signee.

Playing Devil's Advocate, how many of those great players people keep referencing have ever won jack shit in the NBA? They didn't win with Barnes, but they haven't won without him either.

Whoa, whoa, don't pin Wade on me. I never wanted that dude. I wanted one of the Hurleys or Brad Underwood. I felt, and still feel, that this was a good crop of young coaches who not the NCAA tourney flashes in the pan, like an Andy Enfield, for the able, discerning eye of an AD.

 

If he makes a comment about the Real UT or real orange, I am sold.
