I'm suggesting that certain positions are considered more valuable than others and for good reason. It's really not that complicated

I think he may be. Hurd goes down, you've got Kamara, Kelly and Dobbs.

Robinson is booted, who's the left tackle?

I think losing Hurd would hurt the offenses attitude and leadership more than his production.

I have a lot more confidence in Alabama finding a guy to play left tackle well. We do have some other weapons at RB but they're just not Hurd

Not exactly. That's the value to their future teams.

That's why your argument is hilarious.

You're on the wrong side of this one.

    It isn't semantics.

Let me ask you this. Is a 4* recruit more valuable to his team playing at a D2 school or Bama? That's not up for discussion, right?

The Cam/Hurd value to their teams discussion can be had, but using positional value isn't the right way to argue it. No one would say Brett Kendrick was more valuable than Hurd to UT in 2014 because Kendrick played tackle.

If a team has two great LTs sitting behind the starter is that starting LT really that valuable to the team? Would they miss a beat if he went down?

That's your position to try to win an argument and it's a silly defense for that argument despite its factual basis. Particularly the draft bit. We're talking about value to their teams not how another league values them for their teams and styles of play. Which can obviously be different. Draft position is also about added value over next draftable. But a wealth of good RBs across CFB doesn't change the value one might pose to his team, while his draft stock is influenced by that.

But that left tackle isn't as important at the college level, where you run more and aren't facing an elite pass rusher from the edge every week.

    So your backup rb's suck?

It's still more important than a rb

    Kamara is a different back.

Was Dak Prescott not the most valuable player for Miss State?

Was FSU's kicker the second most valued player on the team?

Depends on the RB and the game they play. At UT, it isn't. At AL, it isn't.

RockyHill Loves Auburn more than Tennessee.

You could cite a thousand examples. It is just a magnificently stupid argument.

In college, the center is every bit as important.
