I heard that the Houston job was Applewhites to lose. Wanted a sure fire coach that knew Texas high school coaches. Houston was just way to scared of the baggage that comes with Kiffin.

 

Im not sure it played well with the fans either - and depending on who the AD is, that might influence things. The Houston fans I work with (a lot) were laughing off the notion of Kiffin.

I would imagine if you win big enough, the boosters are happy to leave you alone. Do Bama boosters want to go to lunch with Saban or just win more NCs?

Once he starts dominating the college game he's going to crave a bigger challenge. I can't see him turning down a chance to win a Super Bowl
