I think they're trying to get Blackburn and Fulmer both in here, Fulmer as AD and Blackburn as assistant AD, Fulmer gets his hero's welcome and steps down in a few years and let Blackburn run it. I doubt Blackburn goes for that
It's simple. 2 reasons. Nobody knows what they are doing at UT & those tasked with doing what they know nothing about has a spine to do what they know nothing about.
This is the same university promoting genderless pronouns and wanting their new Chancellor to at least appear to be involved in the process of hiring the next AD. All about appearances. I don't know who is actually looking that would care, however.
Unless the Fulmer exit is in writing, I have no idea why Blackburn would go for it. even then, it's pretty iffy And this seems like the really, really obvious choice
Side Note: Looks like Asst AD for Media, Tom Satowiak slipped in a Trump jab in the KY Game Notes, renaming a section "Alternative Facts"...garnering him praise on twitter from a few other liberal writers
The irony that he was the driving force im hiring a guy away from them that they knew was red-flagged by the AA is............interesting.
This perfectly describes the deep-seated issues, at Tennessee. It seems inarguable that the people calling the shots love themselves more than Tennessee, and unapologetically prefer their own personal vanities, even at the known expense of its ultimate success.
This decision has an enormous impact on Tennessee sports going forward, and I'm about 90% sure we are going to choose the wrong option.
