Our pit is underwater, our farmer just rolled the field and he texted saying it's loaded.

I really haven't done anything to prepare this year. Will probably find a nice stump in a good area and spend a few hours telling Cotton Jr. to be still.

Any of y’all ever hunted woodcock? I don’t know that I’d ever even seen one until being on the property I’m on now on the SC/NC border.

 

That was our most common gamebird in New England

 

Pretty common around Exit 4 on I-81 as well.

 

Based on my walks through swampy cornfields this weekend while deer hunting I think I could limit out in 10 minutes. Of course if I have a shotgun over my shoulder instead of a rifle I’m sure I won’t see a single one.
