Mizzou - 52 Tenn - 37 Imagine a really long analysis of why that could happen with a pic of a certain Kennedy.
Win this and to absolute worst you get is Outback (now Reliaquest) Bowl against likely ND. NY6 and SEC still in play.
Can’t help but feel like we need some help in this one. Their offense needs to play poorly. Don’t think our secondary can hold up to their A game.
All depends on our defensive strategy. We sit in zone and try to get there with 4 all day and we’re beat.
Let’s see how hard we play. Mizzou wants us pretty badly. We need to bring the energy and hit ‘em early.
Honestly don’t have a ton of feel for this one. I think we’re better, but they have a matchup advantage, getting strength on weakness on offense (their pass vs our secondary) and strength on strength on defense (their run D vs our run). We need to win the strength on strength matchup and use our pass rush to cover our issues in the secondary. This isn’t Gainesville or Tuscaloosa, so I’m not necessarily expecting the crowd to affect us the way it has before, but the refs could be an issue. Honestly we could win by 30 or give up 30 in a row and I wouldn’t be surprised. My guess is Vols in a squeaker but this could be anything.
I've been nervous about this game but this stat gives me comfort. I'm feeling better about it now, as I should be.
Milton will have to make some plays as Mizzou will focus on the run. They will try everything and go for every 4th down. They had the ball and chance to take the lead on Ga last week with 6 left. I’m anxious to see how confident and fast we look.
As much as I hate to use Kentucky as a measuring stick for anything, Mizzou ran for 113 on 39 carries against them, and Alabama only has 55 midway through the third. The way we moved the ball on the ground is a very good sign. Then again, Milton has his best game to keep them off balance. We could use that again.
