Reasons the NFL draft bugs me: I swear I, as a football watcher, can draft better than half the franchises involved. You're the Cleveland Browns, you suck, you have needs all over the field, and you trade 3 picks to move up 1 spot to get a guy you would've gotten at your prior spot. Now for the Miami Dolphins: obviously you need a QB, everybody knows it, but why do you use the #8 pick on a guy who probably isn't a #8 pick? So now you still need a QB and you got no benefit out of your pick.
I don't know about Kuechly. He's going to be highly productive and most likely stay out of trouble. He's not a freak athlete, but he'll be at worst a solid LB for 10 years.
Poe and Irvin both wanted to be Vols but couldn't get in academically. Griffin III was seriously interested in Tennessee as well. Richardson made a few visits here too. This pisses me off.
11. Chiefs- Dontari Poe DT- Memphis 12. Eagles- Fletcher Cox DT- Mississippi State 13. Cardinals- Micheal Floyd WR- Notre Dame 14. Rams- Micheal Brockers DT- LSU 15. Seahawks- Bruce Irvin DE- West Virginia
It just goes to show that we are on the minds of 3/4's or more of the big time prospects, imo. Its a crying shame that we don't recruit better than we do if you think about it.
16. Jets- Quinton Couples DE- North Carolina 17. Bengals- Dre Kirkpatrick DB- Alabama 18. Chargers- Melvin Ingram DE- South Carolina 19. Bears- Shea McClellin LB- Boise State 20. Titans- Kendall Wright WR- Baylor (WOW)
Would have preferred DeCastro or a pass rusher. Who knows? He might turn out to be like DeSean Jackson.
21. Patriots- Chandler Jones DE- Syracuse 22. Browns- Brandon Weeden QB- Oklahoma State (Browns having a good draft, imo) 23. Lions- Riley Reiff OL- Iowa 24. Steelers- David DeCastro OL- Stanford 25. Patriots- Donta Hightower LB- Alabama
Too bad Konz from Wisconsin won't be on the board when the Titans pick again. They could use a center on that o-line. I don't mind the Wright pick because they need more playmakers. CJ, Britt, Washington, Cook and now Wright are some nice weapons for Locker.
