Took the wife to see A Star is Born last night. It's pretty good. The wife cried. She had never seen the Kristofferson/ Streisand version. I was surprised at the quality of the music early on. Bradley Cooper is never going to be a rock star, but he holds his own pretty well. He had several writing credits for the music and collaborated with some pretty good folks like Jason Isbell. I hadn't really paid much attention to the movie before going but had heard Lady Gaga was supposedly great. She was good, and it was fun to hear her doing some stuff other than the radio pop stuff. The movie could have lost a couple of scenes or had at least one little shot differently, but there wasn't anything glaringly bad (not referencing the nudity here which was quite sparse) It's predictable too, but that doesn't ruin it. Casting was superb.

Forgot to mention above, trailers indicated a load of left wing propaganda movies and music biopics coming down the pipe. I'm already in on seeing Bohemian Rhapsody, but I'm not as sure about Elton.

Vice (Chaney and Bush movie) and the Ruth Bader Ginsburg movie. Seems like there was something else, but I can't recall.

Edit: To be fair, the Ginsburg movie looked like it could be good and more historical than straight propaganda.

I’d recommend the Halloween film if you like those types of movies. It’s really well done.

I want to see a movie about Scalia’s friendship with RGB, as a sequel to both of their exisitng biopics.

    Mortal Engines on HBO.

Is this what SciFi movies are now?

Premise is dumb as hell. Even dumber than Pacific Rim.

Pacific Rim was basically an updated version of Robot Jox with monsters. Big fan. Pacific Rim 2, boy was it bad.

Doctor Strange was much better than I expected. Much better backstory.

Francis Ford Coppola version? It’s really good, save Keanu.
