Damn son, you missin' out. Nashville's food scene has really taken off, still some of the true icons remain ... at least for now.

Ha! Me too. The country ham and biscuits w/ gravy and the steak and biscuits too. All of it really.

Carol Fay was a legend. May she rest in peace.

Shout out for Lunch House. Not on the same level as Chandlers, but still solid. Their chicken and dumplings are awesome.

I'm not sure that I've ever heard of it, to be completely honest.

    I've never eaten there.

Where is this? Chicken and dumplings done right are a delicacy.

From Chandlers, keep going down Magnolia towards Asheville Hwy. It sits up on the hill on Holston Drive, directly across the street from Petrees Flowers. It is in a white building that used to be a house.

Their breakfast is damn good, too.

Count me in with Tenny. I have never heard of any of these places.

Just not a restaurantphile. I don't eat out that much.

Even when I was in college, I just went home and ate. Didn't go to bars, either.

Restaurantphile? Hmm. Did you just create a new word? Merriam-Webster may have an interest.

Prefer home cookin'? Nothing wrong w/ that.

I'm not foodie or restaurantphile though I do like me some good chow and an occasional drink

Same. I hate the waiting of eating out, and I only take an actual leave-the-office lunch about once every 6 months, if that.

So, I'm rarely available or willing to eat out. But I like new places and trying new / different food, so I'll salt the info away for my next jaunt.
