Sadly, I consider this a win.

I guess this will make next year's inevitable raise and extension tougher to swallow.

 

Which is better than the castration I was expecting.

 

100%. As someone else has said, I don't care what they pay him, just keep the buyout and the years remaining on the contract from crippling us should we fire him.

I at least semi-sense (and maybe it is just me wanting to) that there are some expectations in 2016 from people.

 

It's a lot better than what I expected from our administration. Even so, he was a national laughing stock this season and we reward him with a raise that equates to more money than 99.9% of Knoxvillians make.

Apparently attendance is the highest it's been since '08, up approx 12% over DD's time here.

At the start of the 2014 season he made $3M.

A 7-6 and 8-4 season later with 3 unexplicable losses, 1-5 against the big three on the schedule, and being a national laughing stock for about 6 weeks of the season he's gotten 1.1M in raises.

Let that sink in.

 

It is getting that nutshot and going "Well, at least he didn't hit as hard as he could."

The extension was the biggest worry I had. Pay him 10 mill a year, just make it so you can fire his dumb ass.

 

15-10 equates to a $1.1mil raise in Knoxville. Meanwhile, Richt was fired after going 145-51 over 15 years in Athens.

 

Win the SEC next year or get out.
