Exactly. Just like the slimy politicians in Washington, they'll trickle out the nut shots little by little. They've already locked him in with the original contract and then last year's extension.

They'll add another extension at the end of next year or the next. We can't buy him out for the foreseeable future.

 

Finebaum and Marcus Spears lam-blasted the University for even giving him a raise for a mediocre 8-4 record. Said they didn't understand just how in the world you could justify it.

Saban reset the pay scale, and as every contract was measured against that thereafter, rising tides lifted all boats.

It was 12 to can after this year. 10 isn't illogical. I can live with it. I don't want to, but 2.5m a year isn't as big of a gut punch as it once was with the current revenues.

 

At this point, the best bet may be for him to have stress related health issues or to get hit by a bus.

 

Better than the 20 million or so it would have been with a three year extension.
