May I ask how we are going to spend 3 million on assistants without overpaying some guys? I haven't broken it down...but if you are bringing your own OC, you're going to overpay him. As well as the other guys that are getting bumps..most likely overpaid. Best staff in the country....sure.

He better hire a whale of a DC.

And...with the guys he is bringing in...where exactly does SEC recruiting come in? Were the guys from UGA known to be good recruiters at all?

If this is true and the staff shapes up the way it appears, I wonder how many will call him to task on it. Watch the spin on places like toos - I guarantee when the staff is complete there will be folks arguing that it is the best in the SEC. 100% guarantee.

Willie Martinez is a good secondary coach. Not so great at DC but is pretty dang good as just a position coach.

Oh Brent makes some good points in this article. There will be zero patience for this guy to win except maybe some of the VN sunshine pumpers. This will not end well. Worse than the last three years in my opinion before it all said and done.

 

Tommy Thigpen for linebackers maybe? People have been throwing it around.

 

His work as Oklahoma was passable, not spectacular.

 

I'm not going to complain too much (now) about a Willie Martinez hire for the secondary. God knows Butch needs some people who have some SEC knowledge.
