He just went .500 against ranked teams. You claim the following: 1. This is his high water mark, and 2. He’s “great”. My position is that this is retarded.
I would apologize to anyone who is offended by my use of the word, “retarded”, but I’m not sorry. Better, I don’t care. Because apologizing for things you’re not one whit sorry for is, itself, retarded.
I'm glad that I can use the term "retarded" here w/o having to give references of retarded friends that say it's ok.
I’m just moving the whole “retarded” debate into its own thread. Because nothing more quickly fills the politically correct with virtue-signaling self-righteous rage than when non-retarded people fail to keep those who are actually (clinically) mentally retarded separate from everyone else, ostensibly, because it makes it easier to treat them differently. Believing that inclusivity and acceptance can be achieved via ostracization, however well-intended, is retarded. The desire to keep and treat the mentally retarded people as being different than everyone else is infinitely worse, and certainly much more offensive, than merely using the word “retard” in common vernacular. That’s my point.
I dont believe people with special needs kids who have had other people throw the word retard at them think it's funny. I also dont believe when people use it in the way it's used most often amongst guys, it is meant to compare someone to a down syndrome kid. Michael Scott nailed it. So did Alan in Hangover.
