you beat me to it. makes perfect sense. though sark near new Orleans doesn't sound good for his health

 

though in my opinion sark is a MUCH worse offensive coordinator than kiff.

Apparently Houston has decided to promote Major Applewhite to HC.

Kiffin probably wouldn't agree to being handcuffed by a huge buyout that would prevent him from leaving.

With Applewhite being the HC in Houston. I'm gonna predict Strong goes to USF. Scott goes to FAU. And Lane either becomes the highest paid OC at LSU, or takes the Cincinnati job and if takes the Cincinnati job, Sark to LSU.

really would love to see Butch to USF, but Strong is really the logical choice. I think he'll win there.

i actually think it's kind of shortsighted. who is better off right now Houston after 2 years of herman or say boise state with 5 years of that dude?

 

But it depends on what your long term wants are. If Houston is trying to step up the ladder as a school, they don't want a constant revolving door of coaches. At some point you have to start demanding more of the coaches buyout wise.

 

I think the mantra that stability at the coaching position is oh so important is kind of bullshit. they need to realize their place in the coaching world and just hire the best guy they can. Applewhite will leave too if he wins big. i'd be ecstatic if some guy came and won big and left. better than not winning big and staying.

 

and as for the buyout. I doubt Houston can make it big enough to stop a texas or other major power from paying it. either that or they will make it so big that no coach with any ambition will take the job.

Although I hope it happens. Before Kiffin bama was great. With him they are dominant.
