Don't think that is the stance. The stance is that he is/was not weak, as evidenced by a tourney run that was supposedly as impressive as anything Pearl did.

But the opinion of everyone but IP is that UT got rid of him because he wasn't up to snuff. I just find it hard to believe UT identified a weak coach and got rid of him in a timely fashion. I just don't think the AD is capable.

UT didn't get rid of him. He left on his own to take another job.

    He was forced out though.

I'm just being facetious on all of my previous posts, just to be clear.

I wasn't lumping Tyndall and Dooley together. They were two different kinds of bad hires.

He had a contract extension sitting on his desk

I'm with you. I like Cuonzo.

You find it more likely that Dave Hart and Jimmy Cheek, who flew up to Louisville to beg Charlie Strong to be the coach of the flagship of UT athletics, let him go because he was black?

Im just saying I find it very unlikely that our AD identified that our coach lacked talent and pushed him out because of it.

And flew up on a booster's plane! I thought boosters did not allow the university to use their planes for black coaches?

Cuonzo also interviewed for the Cal job under the guise of a recruiting trip, no?

I think we have some ability to identify bad coaches. It's just that no one cares.

I don't think anyone is suggesting he was a Tyndall-esque hire.

He wasn't. Martin is a good human and bad coach. Tyndall vice versa.

They didn't, he had an extension on his desk he didn't sign.

Fans starting up a Bring Bruce Back petition and boosters telling him he needed to win did it.

I'd say it worked out well for us and Cuonzo. We avoid the buyout, he got to get in on another decent job. He stays around and he's probably axed after year 4 and has to take a bigger step down while we get stuck with his buyout.

    It really did.

Except that we were left with Hart making yet another hire.
