Doubt Florida ever offered anything. Seems like a Jimmy Sexton move.

 

He won 9 games and a conference title at Memphis State. He's either a great coach or magician. I'm fine with either.

 

I'd just hope he isn't Turner Gill.

Not saying that he isn't a fine coach - and he may be the next best thing to Patterson - but I checked his schedule after reading some of these comments, and didn't see any shockingly surprising victories, to be honest. None would be considered as being "big wins" by any means, IMO.

Butch was further along than this guy, when we hired him.

 

He did a nice job coaching this year. He also has a shit load of Larry Porter's talent on this roster. His recruiting class last year on paper was not highly rated for
American conference standards. He loses a ton of starters and back ups from a solid D. Time will tell.

 

In my lifetime before this season, Memphis won 9 games exactly once, and that was with a guy named Deangelo in the backfield.

What he pulled off this season was very impressive. Very.

From what I understand, Chip Kelly has no desire to recruit. Let us hope he stays in Philly.

I know I would never be able to be a college coach. Pimping yourself out to some 17 year old and their family, day after day. Then pimping yourself out to every millionaire that ever attended your school.

Kelly ain't going to Florida. I think he's quite happy where he is.
