If you could alter an event in history...what would it be?

First, would you even do it? How could changing one event change the outcome for others? Say I go back and save Dale Earnhardt...he then races the following week, brings out a caution causing the race to go long, fan now leaves a friend's house a little later than expected and is involved in fatal car accident. That's being dramatic but it's interesting to think about whether or not it's worth changing things.

I look back at my own life and seeing how changing just a few minor things would have significantly altered my life, couldn't imagine the ramifications of changing a world event.

So it would have to be something trivial like sports. Maybe the Red Sox never trade Babe Ruth or Griffey Jr stays healthy his whole career.
