Bingo. The car literally takes you to a charging station when you get low. And it takes about 30 min to recharge, which is about how long it takes to eat a meal on a road trip.

God I can't wait until electric cars are a thing. Hopefully the paradigm shift is quick and violent so Dino cars will be cheap and plentiful.

Was reading an article the other day wondering what will happen to "Musk Industries" (notably Tesla and SolarCity) when the government subsidies and tax rebates stop. The article was fairly slanted, but even though I love Musk and hope for the best, you have to wonder how strong he can keep the momentum going once they start to slow down and expire.

And the Model 3 is here! Well, sort of. $35K base and 200+ miles per charge. Folks are not all loving the nose/lack of grille, but I like the look. Distinctive.

If public transportation wasn't garbage in the US, I could see more people getting these. Plus, will this tow a boat? How long do the batteries last, how much for a new set of batteries? What happens to the batteries when a soccer mom T-bones you in her Suburban?

And, first thing I do it cut a hole where the grill should be.

How would you like to pull up beside this at a traffic light?

Really wonder if he can pull a profit at $35k. Seems unlikely

Lots of Tesla's around here, too.

Might be tight. All depends on how far the costs will be brought down by the gigafactory/advancing battery tech. Also really wonder how many will go for the base. We won't know the options/costs for a while, but I'm guessing 45-50K is where I'd land with desired features. I guess we'll see.

I wouldn't mind seeing one in person. I'm not in the market for such a vehicle right now, but I'm intrigued by battery powered vehicles in general.

Break even might be the goal if they can afford it. Honda did this with the civic for many years just to build customer base.

I read the vast majority of today's reservations are in the 44k range.

Everywhere. Just ask the car. It'll take you there.
