They'll be a laughingstock again at some point, but I'm afraid, no matter how much we want it, it's not going to be like falling off a cliff. It just depends on how much some of their boosters are itching to meddle.

Didn’t go too in depth just a quick look at SOS and Top 25 matchups

JJ finished 3-11 vs. Top 25 though unranked during his 5yrs (’79-’83)

LM finished 2*-13 both against Stoops during his 4yrs (’01-’04). OSU was unranked Miles’ first two yrs, opened the third yr #24 moved as high as #14 before being dropped from the Top 25 before seasons end. Miles’ fourth (final) season OSU entered the Top 25 @ #25 the fourth week climbed as high as #16 before again dropping out of the Top 25 before seasons end.

No offense to either Brown or Stoops but even in their prime neither are as good or better than Os or Switz were in theirs

Fred Akers was 86-31-2 / 60-19-1 conf play @ Texas
AP Top 25 ranked Texas as high as #4 through #12 in five of his ten yrs, and #17 in one.
    Though I certainly see your “Fulmer-esque” point, finishing 7-4-1, 8-4, 5-6

Your underestimation of Stanford coaches does appear to be your blind spot.

UGA message boards saying Jeremy Pruitt is quitting and that Eason is reaching out to Notre Dame, Florida, Michigan and Alabama.

It's funny how important that Tennessee game was to Butch and to Richt

There's a lot of tension inside the Georgia camp. Schottenhiemer and Pruitt apparently hate each other and Pruitt is said to have leaked info about UGa's lineup... It's getting UGA-ly in Athens....

I don't get the UGa mentality... Sketchy assistant hires have been their hallmark over the past decade. I thought Pruitt was going to really shine there though. It's like they hire questionable coordinators so they'll always have an out for not cutting Richt loose. He's as fine a human being as there is walking this vale of tears and if I weren't a UT man I would gladly send my son to play for him but let's be real here... Georgia has WAY underachieved while CMR has held the reins...

@davidpollack47: It could be an interesting day in Athens today.

@Corey_Clark: 680 in Atlanta reporting Pruitt could already be out. And that there may have been physical altercations. Yikes.

If he punched Brian Schottenhiemer, I'll become a Pruitt fan

Funny that he is the scapegoat. Defense has not been their problem.

I'd say he got blamed for letting us beat them and has been fighting going on since then
