As far as Knoxville area favorite places to eat - Chandler's Bistro DTG&B Pete's and/or Sami's (Breakfast/lunch only) Copper Cellar Stefano's Dead End BBQ Naples Connor's (great lunch specials during the week) I also enjoy Knoxville area chains Sullivan's and Aubrey's.
I love Aubrey's. Their boneless fried chicken with gravy is divine. I can't agree with Naples. I don't understand how that place stays open.
Best Knoxville has to offer in terms of full BBQ meal IMO. The BBQ nachos may be my favorite thing to eat in Knoxville.
Nostalgia for me. Been going there for so long, I just love it. Aubrey's also does $2 draft on Tuesdays. Again, I love it.
As always, I need to throw in Foothills Milling Company in Maryville. Well worth the drive from Knoxville for a meal.
For as long as I can remember, the one in Farragut has been there. It's as every bit the institution. There used to be one at West Town. That was travesty to lose it. You could throw your elbows up while the woman was doing her thing.
It's in Fountain City now. Only place that would ever deliver me cigs and food. If you were a special customer you could get then to bring beer after 3am.
My list is pretty much the same as Card's I guess. Only time I ever went to Conner's I was there on the opening/rehearsal night or whatever with a friend who worked at Regas at the time. Basically whatever we wanted short of market price seafood was on the house. Glorious night.
3. Incredibly underrated. The salsa bar and margaritas are solid too. 4. It's good, but I prefer the Tomato Head or DTG&B if I'm in that area. 5. It's already been noted it still exists under a new name, and I agree with others, it's just as good. However, you lose bit of the ambiance. 6. Not a fan. It's 21 and up it's a smoke box. 7. Love it. Recommend it to everyone, along with Aubrey's and Barley's. 8 & 9. If you haven't been to a Get'n Go, your are sorely missing out on life. 11. Was there for the first time few weeks back since god only knows when. My next trip will be a lot sooner. I hate the closed the Bearden and Cedar Bluff spots.
Ott's in Farragut has been closed for a while now. The arcade bar on 17th is Fort Sanders Yacht Club. Nice little joint to hang out before games, never crowded with cheap beer and a nice selection. If you like mexican, El Mezcal next to Sam and Andy's in Farragut isnt bad. Frussies deli on Moody used to be a good eatery. Havent been there since it has changed hands.
Loved the old OCI and the Tap Room next to it. Used to regularly go to OCI on Sunday evenings for roast beef/mashed taters. That's besides the 2 to 3 other times we would wander in there during the week ... Lots of foosball and darts. Closed mid to late 90's maybe? Great place to drink a beer and listen to music upstairs. Still remember hanging out there on cold winter nights. We walked in there one night very late. Lights out, nobody around. Grabbed a 12-er and walked up to the counter. Somebody emerged from the back and sold it to us with the obligatory drunk tax.
