MLB fans that aren’t college football fans are getting their first taste of plane tracking with Ohtani. Oh to be young again.
A lot of change for what’s probably going to end up being a great DH. He’s on his second Tommy John. Won’t last playing both ways.
It's not "contact hitters" either, Judge had the best season by a "hitter" since steroid Bonds and then did basically the same thing again before a freak injury
It allows more home runs than average but not too different from Anaheim/Atlanta/Philly/Texas and less than Dodger Stadium, and overall for hitters it's worse than average: https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/leaderboard/statcast-park-factors
Third in home run factor. But I am a little surprised to see Dodger Stadium #2. It was always a pitchers park traditionally. Did they bring in the fences.
He’s had one great full season, and while you are right that it’s an all time type, it was still one season. His next best was very good but he struck out 208 times. Then his next best was last year when he went down and was on pace to strike out another 200 times over a full season. Without mathing out every season because he’s only played 148+ 3 times, I can tell you he was on a full season pace for 200+ strikeouts at least 2 other times. Maybe it’s a little bit of a “get off my lawn” take, but the best hitter in baseball doesn’t strike out like that I like Judge a lot, but I’m not buying #1. I have no qualms with putting him top 5 though Acuna is going to have to stay healthy and string together another great season or two before I am too upset he’s not higher Freeman absolutely should be top 2 or 3 if not 1. He’s consistently been in the best hitter discussion for years The real travesty is Arraez not being on the list at all. He ain’t number one but he’s doing it year in and year out and was just one of three 200+ hit guys along with Freeman and Acuna this season
Arraez walked more than he struck out too. Which is even more impressive when you consider he only walked 35 times all season.
Holy moly. He is going to be getting millions a year till he is 100 I assume. Way I would do it unless I thought mlb was going to go bankrupt in ten years
